Simple capacity estimations in the complex 5G/New Radio system

Abstract : 5G systems are close to roll-up, very ambitious and in some points complex and very different from presently-used wireless systems. These systems need extended research for enhancement of performance in different aspects and levels. In this paper, and as previously done in [1], we provide simple framework and models based on the recent proposals for 5G, before providing simple capacity estimations for different use cases and radio channel characteristics. These results can be used as an order of magnitude of more realistic 5G performance results. Our simple model and results can be easily used for more sophisticated radio resource allocation and scheduling studies.
