Abstract : An inverse optimization framework for designing thick diffractive optical elements is proposed to automatically find complex multilayer structure with wavelength selective effects. The design strategy is presented by optimizing the multilayer structure parameters with evolutionary algorithm based on rigorous coupling wave theory.
